France Football, organisers of the prestigious Ballon d’Or award, on Thursday officially released the shortlist of nominees for the 2025 edition.
The list, curated by leading journalists from across the globe, was unveiled through the organisation’s official social media channels.
Notable names on this year’s list include Ousmane Dembele (Paris Saint-Germain), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain), and Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal).
Also nominated are Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona), Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund), and Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan).
This year’s edition is widely anticipated to be a tight contest, with Lamine Yamal, Ousmane Dembele, and Kylian Mbappe emerging as the leading contenders.
The 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on September 22.
