Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has dismissed speculations that former President Goodluck Jonathan is considering a return to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Rumours had circulated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was pressuring Jonathan to challenge President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027. Jonathan’s silence on the matter had further fueled the speculation.
However, in a post on his Facebook page on Monday, Adeyanju insisted that the former president has no such plans.
“GEJ is not interested in running for president in 2027. That chapter is closed. Anything you hear about GEJ is a distraction,” he wrote.
