The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has increased the pump price of premium motor spirit from N890 to N905 per litre at its retail outlets in Wuse Zone 6 and Zone 4, Abuja.
The adjustment represents a N15 hike, amounting to a 1.7 per cent increase.
President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, attributed the price rise to supply disruptions caused by the recent dispute between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the Dangote Refinery.
“It is due to PENGASSAN’s strike disruption. However, members still sell at N885 and N895 per litre,” Maigandi said.
The dispute, which followed the mass sacking of Nigerian workers at the refinery, led to a two-day strike before the federal government’s intervention secured a suspension of the action.
