The Court of Appeal has affirmed the earlier judgment of the Federal High Court that stopped the planned National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In its ruling, the appellate court dismissed the appeal filed by the faction of the party led by Taminu Turaki.
The court also awarded a cost of ₦2 million against the appellants, Turaki and others.
According to the court, the Turaki-led faction cannot disguise a clear violation of the party’s constitution and that of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as an internal party matter.
