Donald Trump has accused Iran of winning what he described as “media and propaganda battles” in the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.
Trump made the claim in a post on the social media platform Truth Social on Monday.
According to the US president, Iran has long relied on media manipulation and public relations tactics despite what he described as weak military capability.
He alleged that the country is increasingly using artificial intelligence to circulate misleading images and videos intended to portray successful attacks on United States military assets.
“Iran has long been known as a Master of Media Manipulation and Public Relations. They are militarily ineffective and weak, but are really good at feeding the very appreciative Fake News Media false information,” Trump wrote.
He further claimed that artificial intelligence had become another tool used by Iran to spread disinformation about the conflict.
“The fact is, Iran is being decimated, and the only battles they win are those that they create through AI and distribute through corrupt media outlets,” he added.
Trump also dismissed online footage allegedly showing “kamikaze boats” attacking ships at sea, describing the material as fabricated and intended to exaggerate Iran’s military capabilities.
The US president further rejected reports that five United States refuelling aircraft had been struck and badly damaged, insisting that the aircraft remained operational except for one that he said would soon return to service.
He also denied reports suggesting that the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) had been hit or set on fire, stating that the vessel had not been targeted.
