President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Modupe Adelabu as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Examinations Council.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who stated that the appointment is part of ongoing efforts to reform and strengthen leadership across key education institutions.
Adelabu, a specialist in educational administration, is a retired academic from Obafemi Awolowo University. She has held several senior roles in academia and public service.
She previously served as Deputy Governor of Ekiti State from 2013 to 2014. She also chaired the National Board for Technical Education between 2018 and 2021, contributing to policy development and oversight of technical education in Nigeria.
Her appointment is expected to enhance leadership within the council and support ongoing initiatives aimed at improving the credibility and standards of national examinations in the country.
