The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has officially retained 150 as the minimum cut off mark for admission into Nigerian universities for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The decision was announced on Monday during the Board’s annual policy meeting held in Abuja.
According to JAMB, the benchmark was approved following a voting process conducted among vice chancellors and heads of tertiary institutions present at the meeting.
The Board also disclosed that stakeholders unanimously agreed on the minimum admissible scores for other tertiary institutions across the country.
Under the approved guidelines, Colleges of Nursing will also maintain a minimum cut off mark of 150, while Polytechnics will admit candidates with a minimum score of 100.
The policy meeting, which traditionally brings together heads of tertiary institutions and education stakeholders, is aimed at setting admission standards and guidelines for the upcoming academic session.
More details are expected to emerge from the meeting in the coming hours.
