The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced temporary drone flight restrictions around Hard Rock Stadium and the fan festival at Bayfront Park during FIFA World Cup matches taking place in Florida.

According to a statement issued on Monday, FBI Miami and its law enforcement partners will enforce Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) imposed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) throughout the tournament events.

Authorities advised drone operators to regularly check airspace restrictions through FAA approved applications or the official TFR website before operating any unmanned aircraft.

Brett Skiles, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Miami, said the “No Drone Zones” policy forms part of broader security measures designed to safeguard spectators, participants, and event infrastructure.

Skiles noted that FBI personnel and officers from designated partner agencies have authorization from the Department of Justice to deploy specialized equipment to intercept and seize drones that violate the restrictions.

“Violations of these TFRs can result in civil fines up to $75,000, criminal fines up to $100,000, up to a year in prison, and seizure of the drone,” the advisory warns.

The FBI also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities, including unsafe or unauthorized drone operations, to law enforcement authorities.

Hard Rock Stadium, located in Miami Gardens, Florida, is scheduled to host seven matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including group stage fixtures, a Round of 32 match, a quarterfinal encounter, and the Bronze Final.
