Vice presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has hosted a delegation of the Igbo Elders Consultative Forum at his Abuja residence.
Kwankwaso disclosed the development in a post on X on Wednesday, noting that the group expressed support for the proposed Peter Obi and Kwankwaso ticket under the NDC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the delegation was led by Dr. S. N. Okeke, Chairman of the Ohanaeze Council of Elders for the 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory, alongside former Enugu State Governor Okwesilieze Nwodo.
He said the elders commended the growing collaboration between him and Peter Obi within the party and pledged support for the movement across the South East and other parts of southern Nigeria.
Kwankwaso stated that he expressed satisfaction with his working relationship with Obi and reaffirmed his commitment to the OK Movement and the NDC.
The former Kano State governor added that the party remains focused on consolidating its structure and securing victory in the 2027 general elections.
The meeting is part of ongoing consultations between key political actors and regional stakeholders ahead of the next electoral cycle.
