Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that a final agreement to end the conflict between Iran and the United States has not yet been reached.
Pezeshkian disclosed this in a post on X, despite Donald Trump celebrating the memorandum of understanding reached between both countries.
“What has been agreed upon is an important step towards stopping the war and starting negotiations,” Iran’s president said.
He further noted that while Iran has prepared itself for all possible outcomes, the country has learned never to submit to humiliation.
He said: “The memorandum of understanding that has been developed is the result of months of continuous dialogue.”
The Iranian president described the memorandum as a document of national pride and maintained that the country remains prepared for all possibilities despite the tentative agreement.
Trump has stated that the agreement will be signed on Friday, marking the beginning of a 60 day period of further negotiations, including discussions surrounding the future of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
