Promise Uzoma Okoro recalled that the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency PPPRA had on Janaury 1 2012 announced the removal of Fuel subsidy which paved way for a liter of fuel to be sold at 141 naira per liter.According to the text by PPPRA petroleum product marketers are to note that no one will be paid subsidy of PMS after january 1st 2012.
Promise Uzoma Okoro recalled that the announcement did not go down well with some oil marketers incidentally Uche Ogahs Masters Energy was among the company that opposed the subsidey removal.Protest Upon characterised the removal of the fuel subsidy,some unnamed oil marketers were accused of sponsoring the protest.
On september 18 2012,Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan openly allege that the occupy Nigeria anti-fuel subsidy removal protest organised by the civil society groups in Lagos in the wake of the removal of fuel subsidy in January was manipulated by unnamed class of people.According to mr.President there is no way the ordinary masses would have been the protesters that he saw in Lagos,people that hired musicians,bought bottle waters and ate like millionaires.
On the course of this investiagtion,i spoke with an activist in Abia state Comr.Nwaogu Kingsley C. According to the comrade. Uche Ogah was the choice of the people and also many other candidates were also choice of their people,but there is what we call Charter of Equity in Abia state,he said the Abia North and Abia South has produced a governor has ruled for consecutive 8yrs,so it was the turn of Abia South to rule,but Uche Ogah sturbornly refused to bown down for people from Abia South sebatorial district.
Comr.Nwaogu went further to reveal that Uche Ogahs Company Master also affected him,he said that Uche Ogah was among the oil barons that were benefiting from the fuel subsidy,so when the Governemnt removed the subsidy,he was among the 12 oil barons that fought the Government through the protest.According to the comrade Uche Ogah looted petroleum protest from Aba with pretence of delivering it to Jos,but at the end he will just go to his compnay office and divert the product.
Promise Uzoma Okoro recalled that Mr.Ogah was defeated during the PDP primary election that held in Umuahia Abia state on 8 December 2014.
