President Jonathan played up ethnic and religious cards to the letter. He showed bias to Muslims by allowing some greedy pastors to deceive him that the whole North hates him because he is a Christian. He has been visiting Jerusalem and churches without caring to visit mosques. He sees the North as another political enclave and this is the reason why he did not fight Boko Haram with every sense of seriousness it deserved.
Remember the Chibok girls’ issue? He did not believe that the girls were kidnapped until after 14 days. Even the First Lady openly said that the news was a ploy to make her husband lose the election. This statement was well received by their supporters.
Even though, the President has now come to understand the gravity of this mistake and is piping low, his supporters are still cursing and abusing other tribes in Nigeria 24/7.
Now if Jonathan scores 10 percent votes in the whole North on Saturday March 28, 2015, I would not be surprised. His ambition to rule Nigeria for 10 years will cause him a big loss in the North. In fact, Jonathan has lost this election in the first ballot and he will be defeated mercilessly.
