The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the security agencies to nip in the bud the alleged cases of violence and disruption of voting in several areas of Lagos, Rivers and Ondo states.
In a statement issued in Lagos yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said in many parts of Lagos, thugs allegedly armed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were on rampage, shooting sporadically to scare away voters and carting away voting materials.

It said the development confirmed earlier statements by the APC that the PDP had a premeditated plan to disrupt the polls. The party particularly noted the untoward activities of hired political thugs around Abule Okuta area of Bariga, Iyana Ipaja, Ibeju Lekki, Ikorodu and Apapa, Lagos.

Similarly, in Rivers State, the party said over 50 soldiers posted to Nyesom Wike’s residence in Old GRA area of Port Harcourt unduly harassed people in the area.

According to APC, home of Commissioner for Women Affairs in Rivers State, Joeba West, and INEC registration area in Kalabari National College in Buguma were set ablaze. This is in addition to the police patrol vehicle burnt in Buguma by thugs suspected to be loyal to a particular party.

In the same vein, the party also alleged hijack of electoral materials at Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
