Fake ballot papers, result sheets trigger boycott in Abia

The gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in some villages in Arochukwu ran into a hitch as voters in many polling units refused to vote on the ground that the ballot papers and the result sheets were fake. However in some centers, while voting was in progress, rumours filtered in that the election has been cancelled, which caused more confusion. In some units some Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC ad hoc staff were alleged to be colluding with Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA agents, said they received instructions not to sign the result sheets.
