The Rivers state House of Assembly has accused the former governor of Rivers State Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of using Federal Powers and structures to intimidate the  Controversial Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers State Dame Gesilah Khan.

The Speaker of the house Rt.Hon.Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani made the accusation during a press conference in portharcourt, the speaker said that the visit of the former governor to the Office of the DSS made the SSS to invite the Resident Electoral Commissioner and some Top INEC staffs that supervised the conduct of the April 11th Governorship election in the state.

The speaker maintained that the act, which established the DSS limited it functions to internal security and not to intrude into electoral offences or the outcome of the conduct of any elections.

The Department of State Security Services(DSS) had on Tuesday July 21 quizzed the controversial Rivers REC Dame Khan and asked her to be reporting daily at the office of the DSS,but on wednesday she was picked up and quizzed for about 24hrs following the petition of complicity which the APC wrote to the SSS.

Dame Gesilah Khan and her staff supervised the conduct of the governorship election in Rivers, and has refused to allow the APC and its candidate Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside to inspect the materials used during the April 11th Governorship election in Rivers State
