Press Release

I have wondered why the Wike led government will single out just eighteen months of Amaechi government for probe. It certainly raises so much suspicion and doubts as to the sincerity of the move which is no less sinister.

It is my call that the Rivers State government should probe beyond eighteen months of the Amaechi led administration in the interest of equity fairness without prejudice because anything short of that would amount to witch hunt and would be resisted.
In furtherance to this, the probe indeed should begin from when he Ezenwo Nyesom Wike served as the Chief of Staff in 2007 and there should be no sacred cows.
The probe of corrupt government and recovery of government resources although is in the right step to serve as a deterrent to all public office holders, it should not be selective. Thus it should extend to other administrations before Amaechi.
On Goodluck Jonathan, the view championed by some of his followers that the administration of Jonathan was not corrupt is laughable and ridiculous. I
challenge the former President Goodluck Jonathan to account for the billions of tax payers monies spent on his ‘re- election project, the failed multi billion naira free text book project awarded by Ezenwo Nyesom Wike as minister for Education ,the non payment of civil servants ,pensioners, scholarship monies that were owed and contractors that were owed as well for months crude oil sales, illegal withdrawals from ECA among others.
It is on record and on good authority that during the tenure of former president Goodluck Jonathan, the Nation had its excess crude account and monthly allocations were received by the federal government from the federation account.
Nigerian people demand to know where all the monies were kept or what it was used for if not for personal & other questionable uses.

On the arrest and unlawful detention of Rivers State electoral commissioner Gesila Khan by the Department of State Security Service DSS, indeed the arrest itself is expected, given her attempt of intimidation and coercion of public office holders under her watch to disobey court orders
I wonder why the DSS wouldn’t arrogate powers and take over cases of election fraud that is before the Elections Petitions Tribunal.

It is most unfortunate that the People’s Democratic Party which had pledged to support the fight against corruption, has rather resorted to the use of blackmail to intimidate the federal government over her actions against Ms Gesila Khan, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Rivers state.
I call on the Rivers State government & the PDP to against this unconstitutional act of meddlesomeness follow and as well respect the due process Law as to demonstrate its commitment to the sanctity of the judiciary and the rule of Law
