Guns, amulets and charms, clubs, rings, satanic accessories and others, were some hardwares submitted before a company of over 70 Clerics, Pastors, Priests and God’s servants, Traditional Rulers, Politicians and community people- it was a festival of souls for Heaven. One can imagine how Heaven may feel, seeing these children (none of them up to 22yrs old) confess the supremacy of God’s power (not the writer of this report) over the agents of darkness.

WHAT HAPPENED IN ONNE?
Incessant killings have in the past rented the once peaceful and most lucrative Eleme community. Within a year, over 20 young men and women have been mauled to their early graves. Just on the 14th of July 2015, five youthful blood were waisted in the name of youth restiveness. This scenario pushed the youths of Onne to rise and declare a zero tolerance for this reign of satanism and barbarism- Onne Youth Council confessed God as the maker of Onne and Onne people.
WHO CALLED FOR SUCH A CEREMONY?

He is Rt. Hon. Josiah Olu, Member representing Eleme State Constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly. As a political leader and the only face of Eleme in what we call representative government, he felt pained at the ugly trend of blood letting in his mother and fatherland, Onne and Eleme at large. Josiah Olu, also known as :Shy’, worked in synergy with Chief Casca Ogosu, an indigene of Onne who occupies the position of Rivers State Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee PCRC. These two Onne sons collaborated with Onne Youth Council, under the leadership of Hon. Samuel Onwinkpe (Samora), to organize a Prayer Day on a day like this.

THOSE IN ATTENDANCE
All chiefs from communities that made up Onne clan, community youth leaders, clergy men/women, community youths, visitors in town, media people amongst others.
THE CRUX OF THE MATTER
The youths, numbering over 100, one after the other. came open to renounce membership of several occult groups- hear some of them:
“I was in a cult called ‘dey bam’, we rape, we kill, we steal, I hereby renounce…”, I am a member of Red, I have done many evil, I don’t want to continue…’, I am a black axe, I can disappear at times, I don’t sleep in my house, forgive me, I am a Vie king, I have wronged Onne people and my family, I don’t want to continue as a cult member again, I joined the cult because of my friends, please, I shall no longer be part of this again, I want to serve God…” These and many more were the voices of these misguided teenagers, who have for all this while been terrorists in Onne and neighboring communities in Eleme.
ASSURANCE OF THEIR SAFETY
Majority of the Onne repentant cultists were Onne indigenes. The Police Commissioner represented by the Onne Divisional DCO, the PCRC, the Rt. Hon. Josiah Olu, all assured them of their safety as ‘none of them would be arrested for repenting from their evil ways.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE AS A CONCLUSION
While we thank the Rt. Hon. Josiah John Olu for facilitating this Christian and Godly event, an indication that this APC Lawmaker has no likening for cultism, it will be informative to note that efforts must be geared towards engaging these children in meaningful ventures. They have all confessed that they joined cults because of poverty and unemployment ravaging Onne Clan.
God bless our representative at the Rivers State House of Assembly who promised to see that all these men shall be empowered via skills acquisition and sundry opportunities as soon as possible.
Charms and amulets were set ablaze by men of God present at the event.
ONNE ELEME IS FREE.
