There were a lot of pandemonium on Saturday in some major cities in Portharcourt,the Rivers State Capital following the shooting of a commercial driver on Friday evening by a trigger happy policeman at the Winpey Juction axis in Obiakpor Local Government Area Rivers State.
PUO REPORTS Gathered that trouble started when the Policemen who had made it a duty to demand for 100 naira from any commercial driver carrying passengers within Winpey Junction,asked a commercial Driver simply identified as Davidson Legbara to settle the police,a demand which was refused by the late driver on the excuse that he was just coming out from his house. The explanation was not take by the angry looking Policeman who immediately fired him directly on his Chest,which resulted to instant Death.
The Late Davidson Legbara hails from Uegwere Boue,Khana L.G.A Of the State,PUO REPORTS Gathered that his wife is heavily pregnant and may soon put to bed.
News of his demise did not go down well with his colleagues who blocked the Ikwerre Road ,thereby forcing passengers to take the foot to their various destinations.
The Rivers State Police Commissioner Mr.Ezuike said that the policeman has already been arrested and is being interrogated at the state force headquaters
