Barely 24hours after the Embattled Nigerians Senate President Dr.Abubakar Bukolar Saraki screened and confirmed the former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi,despite the walkout staged by the opposition Lawmakers,The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja have fixed today to rule on the Appeal brought by the Senate President over the decision of the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Saraki who had been engulfed in a battle of supremacy between the Leadership of his party,the APC failed to listen to the voice of reason when he was directed to use the names his party had approved for some position including that of the Senate Leader.
Recall that Saraki’s emergence as the Senate President was not on the best interest of his party,since the party had made a choice for that position,Saraki connived with the opposition PDP to emerge as the president of the Senate.
Last Month,the code of conduct bureau slammed a 13 count charge of falseful declaration of assets by Dr.Bukolar Saraki while he was governor of Kwara state between 2003 and 2007,consequently he was taken to the code of conduct tribunal which ordered the Police to arrest him,for failing to appear before the Tribunal.
When Saraki finally appeard,he pleaded not guilty to the 13 count charge leveled against him.
Saraki filled an Appeal at the court of Appeal over the composition of the Tribunal and other matters,the Appeal court however adjourned indefinitely for consideration of his appeal,which also made the code of conduct Tribunal to adjourn sitting until 5th November 2015.
