Appeal Verdict: Rivers State Left With No Serving Senator

The three separate judgement of the court of Appeal sitting in ABUJA over the Three Senatorial district election in Rivers State has left the state with no serving Senator.

Justice Gumel Ibrahim led three man panel of Appeal Court Justices had on a separate filling,ordered for a fresh election in Rivers South East,Rivers West and Rivers South Senatorial districts respectively.

Senators Osinakachi IDEOZU,George Sekibo and Olaka Nwogu were asked to vacate office and INEC ordered to conduct fresh elections in the districts because the March 28 elections held in the area did not comply with the electoral provision.

There are indications that the Federal House of representatives will be affected by the same court judgement
