The ruling yesterday by a Seven Member Supreme Court Justices headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Mahmud Mohammed which upturned the Judgement of Justice Dougban mensem led Five member Appeal Court Justices has no doubt retired some Politicians in Rivers State from active Politics into Farming,Business etc.

The Supreme Court had yesterday in a lead judgment by Justice Kekere-Ekun, unanimously validated the election of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on the grounds that he won with the lawfully valid votes.

The Court frowned at the Verdict of the Court of Appeal which nullified the election of governor Nyesom Wike on grounds that the Guidelines set out by INEC for its officials were not carried.

The Court told the Counsel to the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress in Rivers State Dr Dakuku Peterside that guidline does not supersedes the Electoral which is where the conduct of an election is specified.
