The Election of Okezie Ikpeazu has been upheld by a Seven Member Supreme Court Panel headed the Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Mahmud Mohammed in Abuja Today.

The Apeal SC 18 2016 filled by the Governor of Abia state Dr Okezie Ikpeazu against the fruadulent Judgement of the Owerri division of the Court of Appeal was said to have proved points raised in the Apeal beyond reasonable doubts by Justice Sulieman Galadima who read the Lead Judgement.

During the commencement of the Hearing today,Chief Akin Olujinmi SAN,Counsel to the Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Allaince Dr Alex Otti tried to smuggle in an Application which would have made it possible for the Cross Appeal filed by Alex Otti to be joined in the Appeal number SC18 which was the Appeal filed by Okezie Ikpeazu.

Justice Nweze,a member of the Seven Member Panel quickly caught with the Counsel to Dr Alex Otti and made it clear to him, that the Application he was trying to smuggle in was filled with SC 35 which is the Cross Appeal he was talking about, but that the Cross Appeal ought not to have been filed seperately, after much arguement, the Application was set aside by the Court.

After entertaining Adoption of Briefs, the Court went on few minutes recess and returned at exactly 9:30Pm which was when Justice Suleiman Galadima was nominated by the Chief Justice of Nigeria to read the Lead Judgement.

He stated that the rulling by the Court of Appeal has been set aside because the Appealants proved their case beyond reasonable doubts, all other Justices agreed with the rulling and gave 15th of February 2016 as a date to give reasons for the Judgement
