Insecurity : Presidency Moves To Declare State of Emergency in Rivers State


Following the Continuous slaughtering of human Lives in some Cities in Rivers State by Suspected Cultists, there are strong indications that President Muhammadu Buhari will declare a State of Emergency in Rivers State to help the Military restore peace in the State.

Privy of the moves by the Federal government, Governor Nyesom Wike on Monday convened a Security Meeting With all the Service Chiefs in the state at Omoku, Headquarters of Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area.

Investigation by PUO REPORTS has shown that the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress had sent series of letters to President Muhammadu Buhari urging him to urgently take a bold step to restore normacy in Rivers State telling him that the state government is not worried despite the loss of lives and Properties within the past weeks.

Among such letter is the One intercepted lastweek by Governor Nyesom Wike which was written by the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Rivers State Dr Davies Ikanya

Omoku, the hometown of the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State Bro Felix Obuah is the worst affected as no day passes without Dead bodies been seen in the Streets.

One painful thing about the killings is that the Private parts of those killed are not seen in their bodies.

Since January 2016, a lot of arms and ammunition’s has been recovered from the homes of some suspected Former Niger Delta  Militants.

There had been counter blames between the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party over the type of raid being carried out by the Military.

Last week, Rivers State Governor Barrister Nyesom Wike banned Motorcycles Operation in Four Local Government Areas in a bid to curtail the criminal activities perpetrated with Motorcycles.

On Monday,some suspected Militants opened fire on Military Men patrolling Yeghe Community in Gokana Local Government Area where some Soldiers and some of the Cultist Died during the exchange of Gunfire.

Although President Muhammadu Buhari is out of the Country, sources say he will Meet with Service Chiefs on arrival from his trip over the continued Insecurity in Rivers State
