My parents are against an igbo son-in-law

Before now my parents have always sounded a note of warning to all my siblings and I about marrying a man from the east. I had always thought they change thier mind when the time comes for me or any of my siblings to settle down.
But the reverse was the case when my fiance whom I have been dating for close to two years without my parents knowing, came to my place to formally introduce himself as a prospective son-in-law to be. Hell broke loose when my parents got to find out he is from the east, they frowned at him and rejected all possible attempts to make them see reasons not to be tribalistic.
I really do love this guy. Please what do you suggest I do to make my parents change their mind?
