The defectors who shifted their allegiance in Akure-North Local Government Area of the state said they took the decision due to the hardship being faced in the country, adding that the bad reputation of the APC in the state contributed to their shift in political ideology.
This was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Akinmade Kayode, who received the defectors on behalf of the State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko.
Quoting one of the defectors, Joseph Owolagba, the statement said, “It has become glaring that it will be difficult for any party to meet or surpass the achievements of the PDP government in the state.
“The hardship in the country is becoming unbearable. The prices of commodities have soared beyond the reach of the common man.”
