Fear Grips Justice Abang Okon as NJC Dimisses Two Judges Over MisConduct

Palpable Fears has gripped Justice Abang Okon of the Federal High Court Abuja Division who delivered a Controversial Judgement in the case Involving Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and the President Of Masters Enegry Dr Uche Ogah following the Dismissal of Justice Mohammed Yunusa and two other judges for judicial malpractices by the National Judicial Council of Nigeria (NJC).

The NJC met on Thursday and Friday to consider several allegations of judicial misconduct by Justice Mohammed Yunusa of the Federal High Court, Justice Olamide Falahanmi Oloyede of the Osun High Court, and an unnamed judge from Benue State. At the end of its deliberations, the NJC decided that the three judges deserved to be dismissed for acts of gross misconduct.

An NJC source stated that Justice Yunusa had the worst case, with numerous petitions accusing him of receiving kickbacks and bribes. He was also accused of writing and delivering two different judgments in one case.

One of the strongest cases against Justice Yunusa was his decision to grant an interlocutory injunction stopping the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from investigating and arresting Senator Stella Oduah, a former Minister of Aviation, who is the target of an EFCC investigation. Ms. Oduah is accused of massive embezzlement of public funds and numerous acts of fraud in contracts.

On the 27th of June 2016 Justice Abang Okon Effreti of the Federal High Court In Abuja delivered a Controversial Judgement where he ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to issue Certificate Of Return to the President Of Masters Energy Dr Uche Ogah on grounds that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu presented forged TAX Receipts to INEC during the bid up to the 2015 General Elections.

The Judgement of Justice Abang Okon has been widely criticized across the Country as both Legal Pundits and Political Leaders say by given the Order to INEC to issue Dr Uche Ogah with Certificate Of Return,the right of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to Appeal was Destroyed.

In an Usual manner,the Federal High Court Headquarters on Friday came out to explain the two Judgement involving Governor Okezie Ikpeazu delivered by  Justice Abang, Dr. Ogah and  Justice Allagoa  of the Abuja and Owerri Division Respectively.

Although it is not yet clear to PUO REPORTS if the National Judicial Commission has commenced Investigation into the two Judgement,but an NJC Source revealed that the petition written by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to the Judicial Commision has been received
