As I informed you last week. Alex Otti applied to the Appeal Court to be joined in the suit. He is claiming that Justice Abang erred when he declared Uche Ogah as Governor of Abia state instead of him. According to his pleadings, Uche Ogah did not contest any election and hence does not deserve to benefit from the outcome of the election if the PDP ticket holder, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, is disqualified for any reason at all.

Otti’s application for joinder was adjourned to 4th August for hearing with parties asked to file written addresses to the court. Interestingly, That same date Mr Uche Ogah will be in Tinubu magistrate court to answer criminal charges of forgery and fraud leveled against him, his company Masters Energy and some staff of UBA plc.

On the matter involving His Excellency Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and Mr Uche Ogah, the appeal court asked Ogah and Ikpeazu to remain as they were before coming to the appeal court with Governor Ikpeazu continuing his job as the Executive Governor of Abia State while Uche Ogah continues as an Abia born business man. The court pointedly  cautioned Ogah not to disturb or trouble Governor Ikpeazu untill judgement is delivered.

That implies  that the court has automatically stayed Abang’s judgement from being executed any longer in any form. The matter was subsequently adjourned to 9th August  for hearing and adoption.
