Some Suspected at Abia Police Command Today

The Abia State Police Command said the Young man who Specialized in Killing Keke Operators In Abia has been remanded in Prison Custody.

The Commissioner of Police in Abia CP Leye Oyebade said the Youngman a 25year 200 Level Student of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike was arrested on On 01/07/2017 at about 1200hrs, sequel to information received on the missing of one Peter Alaebuonu Eseonu, a tricycle operator, 67years ‘m’ of Ekenaobizi Umuopara Umuahia on 27/06/2017.

The Suspect identified as  Chinonso David Ibekwe, 25yrs of Ndiotu Ntalakwu, Bende LGA  a 200 level Computer Science student of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike specialize in Killing Keke Operators and burying them in Shalow Grave at Amauzukwu in Umuahia.

According to Investigation by PUO REPORTS,the last Victim was his 10th Victim and after killing them,their Keke Plate Numbers are changed and giving as hire purchase others.

A Family Source of the Victim said they reported the missing of their Late Father to the Police and the management of the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State(BCA) Radio 88.1Fm Umuahia and someone provided Information leading to the arrest of the prime Suspect

In his Confession the Suspect said he uses Rope to Strangle his Victims to death before taking their Keke and burying them in a Shalow Grace in Amazukwu Umuahia.

And his Targets are majorly Oldmen who may not be able to resist his Strength

Below is a Press Briefing by the Abia State Police Command

PRESS BRIEFING BY THE ABIA STATE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, CP ADELEYE O. OYEBADE ON 14TH JULY, 2017, AT THE POLICE STATE HEADQUARTERS, UMUAHIA.

The Abia State Police Command under the leadership of CP. ‘Leye Oyebade in its determination to rid Abia State of crime and criminality has embarked on numerous proactive measures to ensure that crimes are nipped in the bud and perpetrators of heinous and violent crimes put on check. However, within the period under review, the Command has recorded various achievements through the implementation of its identified crime fighting strategies. Here-under are some of our achievements within the period:
1. ARREST OF MURDER SUSPECT:
On 01/07/2017 at about 1200hrs, sequel to information received on the missing of one Peter Alaebuonu Eseonu, a tricycle operator, 67years ‘m’ of Ekenaobizi Umuopara Umuahia on 27/06/2017; detectives attached to Central Police Station, Umuahia swooped on one Chinonso David Ibekwe, 25yrs ‘m’ of Ndiotu Ntalakwu, Bende LGA. The suspect, a 200 level Computer Science student of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike Abia State gave a lead towards the recovery of the decomposing body of the said Peter Alaebuonu Eseonu in a ditch at Amuzukwu Umuahia. He has however, confessed to the crime while the decomposing body of the deceased has been deposited in the morgue for preservation and autopsy. The suspect has been charged to Court and remanded in Prison custody.
2. ARREST OF SUSPECTS / RECOVERY OF STOLEN ITEMS:
Sequel to a report on 02/07/2017 that his house was broken into while away for Church service same day by unknown person(s) and his house properties carted away; men of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) attached to Obehie Division swung into action and arrested the duo of Maduabuchi Lolo and Onyemaechi Emeruwa both males of Obehie aged 21 and 19 years respectively. Suspects confessed to the crime and gave a lead to the recovery of the stolen items viz: one LG Plasma Tv, one Samsung Plasma Tv, one Home theatre music set, clothes and other personal effects. Efforts are geared toward arresting other members of the gang.
3. ARREST OF MURDER SUSPECT / RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION:
On 09/07/2017 at about 1100hrs, information was received that someone was shot dead along Obohia road Aba. Sequel to this, a patrol team attached to Ndiegoro Division on routine patrol rushed to the scene at No. 22 Obohia road Aba where the deceased was met in a pool of her own blood. The Divisional Police Officer, Ndiegoro mobilized other patrol teams and proceeded to the scene where one Ogbonnaya Igwe ‘m’ of 22 Obohia road was arrested in his hide-out at the ceiling of the house. One Pump-Action rifle and double barrel gun with 15 live cartridges and four expended cartridges were recovered from the suspect and at the scene respectively. Corpse of the deceased later identified as Ijeoma Chibuzo was deposited in the Mortuary for autopsy. Investigation is in progress.
4. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS / RECOVERY OF MOTORCYCLE / CARTRIDGES:
On 12/07/2017 at about 0530hrs, the Inspector General of Police’ X-Squad, Force Headquarters attached to Abia State Command, arrested the duo of Sunday Onyemeonu Okpara 17yrs and Uchenna Wisdom 17yrs both males of Umudike, who had on 08/07/2017 snatched on gun point, a motorcycle with reg. no. RLU 871 QC from one Emmanuel Nworgu ‘m’, a student of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike. The motorcycle and two live cartridges were recovered from them. More efforts are put in place towards arresting one other at large.
5. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS:
On 08/07/2017 at about 2130hrs, on information that a Toyota Sienna van with reg. no. KRK 930 AA, ash in colour was parked at Ugba Junction market square by suspected hoodlums, patrol team attached to Owerrinta Division raced to the scene where one Kingdom Jonah Udo ‘m’ of Eleme in Port-Harcourt Rivers State was accosted. The suspect, Kingdom Jonah Udo quickly confessed that he was waiting for two of his gang members who had gone out with a Dee-Damak Motorcycle with reg. no. Imo UML 511 QP red in colour. The other two members, Kingsley Alozie ‘m’ of Isiala Ngwa North LGA and one Charles Tochukwu ‘m’ of Alolo village Okpuala LGA Imo State later came back at about 2300hrs were also arrested. During a search on them, the following items were recovered from them: Eight live cartridges, Three live 5.56mm ammunition, Toyota Sienna van, Dee-Damak motorcycle, Six GSM phones, the sum One Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Naira (N115, 850.00). Case is still under investigation.
6. RECOVERY OF STOLEN ITEMS / ARREST OF SUSPECTS:
On 01/07/2017 at about 1830hrs, on information, detectives attached to Ndiegoro Division Aba arrested the duo of Kalu Ekpe and Onuoha Onuoha both males of No. 4 Chinyere Avenue by Orji Uzor Kalu bridge and No. 112 Ohanku road Aba respectively suspected to have broken into a shop at Ndoki Street Aba and carted away three (3) bales of second handed clothes. The stolen items have been recovered and the suspects have confessed their nexus to the crime. Effort is intensified toward arresting the principal suspect and identifying the owner of the recovered items.
7. RECOVERY OF ARM / ARREST OF SUSPECTS:

On 04/07/2017 at about 2200hrs, acting on a tip off, detectives attached to Area Commander Umuahia Office recovered one locally made double barrel short gun with its cartridge in a local joint where Indian hemp is smoked at Amaeke Abam, Arochukwu. Also recovered were some wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp. The duo of Uche Friday and Ndubueze Louis both males aged 38 and 37years respectively were however, arrested for investigation.
8. RECOVERY OF VEHICLE:
On 06/07/2017 at about 0905hrs, acting on information received, a team of patrol men attached to Owerrinta Division led by the DPO recovered one Honda Accura Jeep with reg. no. KWL 896 LU which documents found therein revealed belong to one Felix Iroegbulam ‘m’ of 114 Ikot Ekpene road Aba. The owner has been located.
9. ARREST OF CULTISTS:
On 07/07/2017 at about 1600hrs, responding to information received that suspected cultists lodged in one Grand Lotto Hotel Aba, detectives attached to Ndiegoro Division swooped on the trio of Obike Stanley, Favour Michael and Kingsley Uchenna both males of Ken-Saro Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori and Rivers State Polytechnic, Ogoni respectively. The following items were recovered from them namely: one axe, cultist regalia, tramadol tablets and weeds suspected to be Indian-hemp. Suspects confessed being members of New Black Movement of Africa (NBM). Investigation is in progress.
10. RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION:
On information, detectives of Anti-kidnapping Unit attached to Area Command Aba on 30/06/2017 at about 1830hrs recovered two locally made short guns with Six live cartridges and Two expended cartridges suspected to have been abandoned by unknown hoodlums at Evangel Seminary School premises in Ovom, Ogbor-Hill Aba. The exhibits have been taken into custody while area is placed under surveillance to track down those behind the scene.
