Iniesta Wins Most Valuable Player of Spain’s National Team

Barcelona captain and legendary midfielder Andres Iniesta named the Most Valuable Player of Spain’s national team at an awards ceremony held by the Marca sports newspaper on Monday.

 

With Iniesta’s teammate, Lionel Messi, claiming the Pichichi and Di Stefano awards in recognition of the 37 goals scored in the Spanish League during the 2016-17 season.

Marca reported that Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak received his second Zamora Trophy, awarded to the keeper who records the lowest goals per games ratio.

Other Winners Were:

Jan Oblak, Atletico goalkeeper, the Zamora;

Iago aspas, the Zarra, national top scorer.

Mendilibar and Garitano, from Eibar and Leganes, as best coaches for the Miguel Munoz Prize.

Martinez Munuera, the best referee, took the Guruceta.

Atletico Nacional were awarded the Jarque / Puerta trophy for giving the title of the Copa Sudamericana to Chapecoense after the air tragedy.
