National Assembly Commences Investigation Into Fuel Scarcity

The National Assembly has commenced a Public Hearing to investigate the lingering fuel scarcity bedevilling the nation in the last few weeks.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, had directed the Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) to convene a meeting with industry stakeholders and map out solutions to the problem.

Present at the hearing which are the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr Maikanti Baru and petroleum marketers.

Trade unions in the oil and gas sector are also represented at the ongoing investigative hearing.
