It is good enough that no member of the state executive committee (SEC) nor any member Offot the state working committee (SWC) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has owned up to authorizing the release and publication of the lists of strange names under a suspiciously branded headed papers made out to appear to belong to the All Progressive Congress (APC) purporting the lists to be that of ward and local government area chapter executive committee members of the party in Akwa Ibom State, and therefore smacks of conspiracy, when up till the close of work on 5 September. 2018, when the fake list was published, the State Chairman, in the face of this clear deadly provocation, behaved derelict of his responsibility and appeared bloodthirsty for public violence by ignoring the dangerous issue and disappearing into the thin air of the Uyo metropolis.
The understanding of the delicate and careless nature of that published “fake lists” of ward and local government chapter executive committee members of the party in the statafafsgzge, makes this report, a report of the careless display of blood thirst and the setting up of the entire Akwa Ibom State and people for a theatre of war during the upcoming processes that should lead to the free, fair and credible vacation of the processes that will lead to the successful completion of the 2019 general elections in the state, as scheduled by the national working committee of the party, of great importance for security intelligence gathering to allow for proactive checks against electoral crimes and criminals in the state as the 2019 elections approaches.
The APC Patriots Grouping (APCpg) in Akwa Ibom State undertook to watch the reaction of members of the state working committee of the party, their response to this unfortunate publication that seemingly indicts them, and hereby bring to light the setting up of the processes of breaching the security and peace of the Akwa Ibom State government and people, by some disgruntled politicians in the state, who are doing everything to exclude the only contender in the party to the office of governor of the state, whose coasting to victory in the impending election is now a painful nightmarish sore on the minds of some politicians in the state, in the days ahead, starting today 5 September 2018.
With the purchase of nomination and express of interest forms by political aspirants seeking to contest elections into the houses of assembly, the federal house, the senate and the presidency, which started today, one of the fathers of opposition politics in Nigeria’s political struggle, and one of the founders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, the most distinguished senator of the federal republic’s, Dr John James Akpanudodehe, who aspires to the office of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State in the March 2019 Gubernatorial elections in the state, was at the national headquarters of the party in Abuja to purchase necessary forms to express his interest in the governorship race of the State in the next governorship contest.
His third race in row, only equaled by his brother opposition struggler, Group Captain Sam Ewang (rtd), is seemingly also taking the same course of betrayal, fear, intimidation, provocation and diabolic set ups like others orchestrated by these same men before this present attempt. This will be confronted intellectually, except we should prepare to be disappointed in our strong believe in the Buhari presidency, the party steering of the Comrade Chairman and the party leadership of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. We can avail ourselves to watch them fail so that we can shamefully join the wailers and regret the 3 men forever!
JJU PhD received his forms at 14:00hrs of 5 September 2019, strategically being the first aspirant to the office of governor in Nigeria to purchase his interest forms at this time. This event marked the failure of the propaganda against him, which evil men peddle that because the man of God has been out of political office for 10 years, he would not afford the N22.5m cost for the necessary governorship forms, and on finding out that he (Akpanudoedehe) has made ready to purchase his forms, these haters of God’s peace decided to test the trouble waters of Akwa Ibom State by setting up the State, the government and the people, for political violence that would stall the scheduled processes of the party to the 2019 general elections, in order to label Senator (Dr) Akpanudoedehe with arson and aggression. He has learnt the way of the Peace in Christ. And they failed yet another time. Such is called “EKEMINI” (God’s ripen timing) and they all know and are persuaded. Yet, they kick continually and continuously against the goad.
This is therefore a call, first, to the Inspector General of Police to investigate the deployment of troops of policemen to the state Secretariat of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State on 5 September 2018. The reason for the call and deployment of police troops to the party secretariat located at 149 Ikot Ekpene road, Uyo, must first be determined, and editors of the different local tabloids that carried the lists of party members on 16 pages advertorial in question, must be asked to submit copies of duplicate receipts to help investigators clamp down on the perpetrators of the clear provocation to violence that was onerously put down and arrested by the State Secretary of the Party, Hon Austin Ekanem.
Hon Austin Ekanem was the only member of the state working committee who was available, and on ground to assure curious and angry members of the party, who were pricked by the bloody irresponsibility of bloodthirsty politicians, that the published list the members were reacting to, was “a fake list of exco members in the ward and local government chapters of the party in the state” and the issue would be looked into soonest. He confessed that at the last executive meeting of the party, the published list was not tabled for discussion, and reported that his State Chairman has claimed ignorance of the “fake lists”. On the request for him to refute the lists on spot, he said he would need directives from the state chairman of the party or the State APC Caucus Chairman, whom he called and was advised appropriately. He doused a seeming imminent public riot and he is hereby highly recommended to the national working committee of the party for the excellent job of ensuring the maintenance of the peace of the state without a single policeman by his side.
This tells more of the leadership delinquency of the state chairman who was said to literally walk around in the company of 3 heavily armed policemen. Was he privy of the intended wickedness? Why the police protection and why so much unusual deployment of police troops to the headquarters of the party in the state? The interest of this report is to ensure the security agencies in the state do not side with criminals to unleash constant terror on vulnerable people.
No one in Akwa Ibom State is ignorant of the fact that here “what money cannot do, more money can do”. In this case, the question that should be answered is on how long would our security men remain parochial, mundane and mentally impoverished? Deployment of security men must be measured in order not to allow for their implication as accomplices to criminals, covering up for them officially.
The Divisional Police Officer in Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and his Divisional Crime Officer handled a case that was reported to them as “criminal” by the Party Chairman on the aforementioned unfortunate “list of exco” published for Nsit Atai Local Government Area, one Mr Ifiok Titus Udo. These 2 high ranking officers of the Nigerian Police would be of help to the investigating team of the Inspector General of Police.
Mr Ifiok Titus Udo, on that fateful morning when Senator (Dr) Akpanudoedehe mobilized 2 laptops and operators to Nsit Atai as his contribution to the “online registration of party members” in the State, as one of the stakeholders of the party in the state who had been required by the NWC of the party to deploy machines and staff to assist in the exercise, attempted to stop and actually immobilized one of the laptops by destroying it, and manhandling the operator in the process. The DPO and DCO in Nsit Atai are police officers who can help throw light on this clear report that should help the IGP with a picture in his intelligence gathering and proactive tackling of election violence in Akwa Ibom State from now onwards.
The said Mr Udo clearly attempted to disenfranchise supporters of Dr Akpanudoedehe in Nsit Atai Local Government Area, a self acclaimed party leader, and now one among those published on the lists of those used in setting Akwa Ibom State up for violence, was clearly guilty of “antiparty activity” and appeared not fit for the public office he is desperately positioned to occupy.
It is on record that the Nsit Atai LGA DPO told him clearly that he was in a position to “detain” him for his taking his men for a dangerous ride to embarrass them. These are the kind of characters paraded by party officers and recruited by a seeming “moneybag” who heads an interventionist agency of the federal government. It looked as if those who benefit from the party without sweat are the ones who turn out to pay the party back with evil.
Ifiok Titus Udo who did what he did after having supervised the same online membership registration exercise on the side of the incumbent Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for a week before Dr Akpanudoedehe, who is not an office holder, could mobilize his own men and materials for the exercise, had recruited the said DCO to assign policemen and vehicle to him to intercept “diverted registration materials to Nsit Atai LGA” under false pretence and false information. The Nigerian Police was ridiculed in the matter between 2 factions of one party, until the DPO intervened and reprimanded Ifiok Titus Udo for misdemeanor.
The evil that men do lives with them. Hon Akainyene Noah, the authentic Chapter Chairman, illegally replaced with Ifiok Udo through executive connivance against the result of the “congress” that held on 12 May 2018 on the fake lists, before the Nsit Atai DPO, had accused Ifiok Udo of taking members of the party he gives money to, on trips to Okobo in Akwa Ibom State to swear fetish oaths of allegiance against the tenets of democracy. Although he denied it, this is a matter for security agencies to monitor because this is coercive cultism, banned by our constitution. This is the picture of how government appointees apply our collective wealth, using them against us, sometimes killing us.
This is the picture of the security implication of this reported averted breach of public peace, which should have been spontaneous: many of the supporters of Senator (Dr) Akpanudoedehe are self sponsored members of the party. This is to say, they are diehard members of the opposition parties spanning more than 10 years, among whom are leaders of the party like Rtd Group Captain Sam Ewang.
Senator (Dr) Akpanudoedehe is a politician who attracts political following by intellectual impartation by and through which his followers grow their varying political awareness and aspirations – they spend for the party because they do not have political office holder-sponsors.
These men and women were ready to hit the roads of Uyo in a riot because what that publication told his supporters was that Senator (Dr) Akpanudoedehe has wasted N22.5m not having any hold on the published lists of “exco members” in wards and local government areas of the state against the result taken from the congresses of 5 and 12 May 2018: the said publication is a criminal case of forgery. Did any of these men measure the security consequence of their actions by publishing fictitious lists the State Secretary of the party, and head of Secretariat is ignorant of? This is a very sad provocation and must be investigated.
This calls the attention of President Buhari, Vice President Osinbajo, Leader Tinubu, and Chairman Oshiomole to be true democrats that they claim to be. Let them ask the PDP men who are now in the APC: Godswill Obot Akpabio, Umana Okon Umana and Nsima Ekere what wrong Dr John James Akpanudoedehe has done them.
Was Dr Udoedehe wrong in helping to found the PDP in Akwa Ibom State in 1998? Was he wrong to resist Governor Attah from imposing his son in law on the people as governor? Was he wrong in supporting Governor Akpabio to become governor in 2007? Was he wrong to engage Governor Akpabio in a war to defend the opposition parties in the state in 2011 losing his supporters to the outbreak of violence and mass murder during his campaigns in Ikot Ekpene in 2011?
Was he wrong in walking away from his governorship nomination during the 2015 governorship primaries when he discovered he was betrayed to avert violence? Was he wrong to have held forte in the APC until now? And finally, is he wrong to aspire to be governor and to have spent N22.5m to buy his forms? Amem Owo edibiat okuk utodo idaghami? “Is it easy for anyone to spend that kind of money these days?” Why are all the politicians in Akwa Ibom State afraid of Dr Akpanudoedehe? Why are they intimidated by his support base? Yet he is inclusive, open and non funding of frivolities.
What his supporters should know is that Dr Nsima Udo Ekere is a disqualified governorship aspirant of the party in the state, not having resign from his appointed political office 19 days to the party’s governorship nominations as at 5 September 2018, scheduled to hold on 25 September, 2018, and against the clear provision of the Nigerian constitution, which requires a political office holder on a party platform to resign from office 6 months to the elections in which he is a participant, and this he should have done on 1 September 2018. We are standing by to watch how the NWC the APC would allow Nsima Ekere, who is rumored to have purchased the governorship nomination form through a surrogate, to contest in the primaries illegally come 25 September 2018. We still have the Ekiti State primaries under focus and we ask “will Akwa Ibom State suffer same fate?”
The APC Patriots Grouping, an intellectual think tank of volunteers investigating all the blackmails and propaganda aimed at Dr Akpanudoedehe to burst the wrong ones as lies and accept true positions when identified, in order to fine tune his policies and strategies through his aides: and he does not even know about this project.
Shared below are links of reports made before now to call the attention of the general public to events aimed at provoking the distinguished senator, who has been severally labelled as a trouble maker, imprisoned for same, and almost killed by Godswill Akpabio via the hands of recruited policemen who “more money” helped mobilized. Yet, daily, the truth unveils a man who the people insists must serve them in 2019.
Finally, it is expected that Hon Ini Okopido, State Chairman of the APC in Akwa Ibom State, as a matter of urgency, and to clear his name and that of his committee from the conspiracy to cause disaffection in the party in the state in order to cause public chaos because Dr Akpanudoedehe has shown capacity to pick his governorship forms, should immediately refute the published lists of wards and LGAs “exco list”, as it has not yet found a place on the party’s notice board at the party state headquarters, before close of work on 6 September, or resign as State Chairman of the party for being an accomplice to public provocation and antiparty activity punishable by expulsion according to the constitution of the party.
We are ready to confront their guns with our pens, their ignorance with our intellect, their obscene spending with our contentment with poverty. There are people who money cannot buy, to whom even more money is a visible report-able crime.
A word for Mr President and leader Tinubu: they who forget their history are condemned to repeat it. You were both bitten by the PDP nomads that left the APC recently, if the “madness” of 15 men can be undone by the “madness” of 1 man, then that 1 man is more dangerous than the 15 others put together. Godswill is a broad spectrum Akpa-biotic drug that cures presidential stress from acute political defections, but an overdose in nursing him for senate presidency is a fatal risk to the political lives of both President Buhari and the Asiwaju of Yorubaland. A stitch in time, they say…na una sabi!
