A Federal high court sitting in Owerri has this morning struck out an application brought before it by the defeated governorship candidate of the AA, Mr. Uche nwosu who has sought a relief asking the court to order INEC not to give Certificate of return to INEC declared winner, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP, Nwaogwugwu can authoritatively report.

In its gazetted ruling, the trial judge said that the defeated governorship candidate of AA Mr. Uche Nwosu lacked the locus standi to obstruct the INEC from carrying out its constitutional mandates of issuing a certificate of return to the declared winner.

Nwaogwugwu recalls that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate emerged the winner of the March 9th gubernatorial election held in Imo state beating her closest rival the Action Alliance (AA) which does not go down well with the defeated party which has long assembled their lawyers for a legal showdown.

It would also be recalled that the INEC had set out March the 27th for the day it would issue a certificate of return to the declared winner which did not go down well with the losers hence the court application to stall the process but the Federal high court sitting in Owerri has ruled that Mr. Uche Nwosu had no power to stall the Democratic and constitutional process of the electoral umpire in an express judgement delivered today in Owerri, the capital of Imo state.

The pronouncement of the judgement elicited cheers from overhwhemed crowd of supporters who had thronged to the venue to show solidarity with the winners.
