Gov Ikpeazu constitutes ABSU visitation panel

The Executive Governor of Abia State and Visitor to Abia State University, Okezie Ikpeazu, has approved the constitution of a Visitation Panel to the Institution.

The approval was contained in a release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barrister Chris Ezem and made available to DAILY POST in Umuahia, on Thursday.

Governor Ikpeazu, however, appointed Chief J.U.K Igwe, SAN, and Mr. Okechukwu Ihedioha as Chairman and Secretary of the panel respectively.

Members of the Visitation panel are, Hon. Jude UdeacUdeachara, Sir Sam Onukwuo, Chief (Mrs.) Victoria Akanwa, HEH Eze Love Nwogu, Dr. Amachukwu Okezie and Mr. Okechukwu Ihedioha.

Meanwhile, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed Chairman of Governing Council of Abia State University, Uturu, to reconstitute without delay, the Selection Committee for the nomination and screening of candidates for the office of Vice Chancellor of the University with specific reference to the Senate representatives so as to give all aspirants a level playing ground and ensure justice, equity and fair play in the selection process.

The directive was contained in a release by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barrister Chris Ezem,and made available to newsmen on Thursday.

According to the release,”All aspirants are to subject themselves to the regulations on the selection process of a new Vice-Chancellor as provided in the extant laws of the University”.
