Former Chairman of Ariaria International Market, Late Elder Emeka Igara laid to rest

The remains of the Late Elder Emeka Augustine Igara, former Chairman of the Management Committee Ariaria International Market Aba, has been laid to rest in his hometown, Umuebere, Umuobiakwa, Obingwa LGA.

Speaking at the funeral service held at the Umuobiakwa Primary School, Obingwa LGA , Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said the death of Elder Igara, whom he described as a great merchant, marks the end of a strategic chapter of successful merchants in Umuobiakwa Community, a trend pioneered by the father of the deceased.

He noted that the deceased was very passionate about what ever he believed in, adding that there is a time for everything under the sun, including the time to exit this earth. According to the Governor, it is God that determines when our times are up on earth.

The Governor prayed God to grant his soul eternal repose as well as good health and long life to his family.

In a sermon the Senior Pastor in charge of United Evangelical Church,Etche Road Aba Rev. Okey Ekperechi reminded Christians of the need to work in line with the purpose for which they were entrusted with various positions of trust and charged them to “render service to humanity as unto the Lord”, adding that every service accounted for at the end.

The Chief Mourner and first Son of the deceased, Mr Igara Samuel used the forum to thank God for His Grace upon his family and to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for standing by the family at all times and prayed God to richly bless everyone for identifying with the Igara family.

Aged 74 years, Elder Emeka Igara who was until death Chairman Ariaria International Market Aba is survived by his wife, children and a host of other relations.

The funeral ceremony was graced by top government officials including t Leader of the House/Member representating Obingwa East State Constituency, Hon. Solomon Akpulonu, Member representing Obingwa West State Constituency, Hon. AC Thomas-Nkoro, Members of the State Executive Council including the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, Commissioner for Works, Rt. Hon Cosmas Ndukwe, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barrister Emeka Enwereji, members of the political class, leaders and businessmen at Ariaria International Market, other Market leaders across the State, and a host of friends and family members.
