Governor Alex Otti is setting an undemocratic precedent over the delays in issuing proclamation for Inauguration of the 8th Abia Assembly.
This is the very first time since 1999 that Abians are appealing to their Governor to excercise his rights as enshrined in the 1999 constitution as amended.
Governor Alex Otti must be reminded that hai delays is not to his best interest especially as someone who claims to bring “HELP” to the People of Abia, but now Abia State 2023 Lawmaker elect are now helpless and needs the help of Governor Alex Otti.
Enugu State House of Assembly and Abia State House of Assembly are in their current Assemblies, today the 8th Enugu State House of Assembly was Inaugurated with a ranking member elected as Speaker of the House, but here is Abia, Governor has refused to issue proclamation letter for the holding of the First Session of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly.
I have always maintained that it is easy to speak and offer solutions from outside, when the ball is in your court, those who offered solutions becomes overwhelmed.
The Executive arm of Government is place, the Judicial arm of government is in place, it is undemocratic for a lacuna to be created with the Legislative arm of Government by Governor Alex Otti.
