FIFA: Super Falcons drops two spots in latest ranking

The Super Falcons of Nigeria fell two spots in the initial FIFA women’s 2024 rankings.

The nine-time African champions fell from third place to the 34th rank.

Still, Randy Waldrum’s team remained the best in Africa.

This season, the Super Falcons have played in just two games.

at the rematch, the West Africans defeated their longtime rivals 1-0 after holding the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon to a scoreless draw at Douala.

Next month, they will compete against the South African Banyana Banyana in the 2024 Olympic qualification round.

The continent’s second-ranked country, South Africa, rose to 51st place globally in the rankings.

Morocco is ranked 58th in the world and third on the continent. The Copper Queens of Zambia advanced to position 65, a remarkable five spaces ahead.

Spain, the reigning world champions, continue to top the rankings worldwide.
