Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title have received another boost following their narrow 1 0 victory over West Ham United on Sunday.
According to the Opta SuperComputer, Mikel Arteta’s side are now stronger favourites to lift the league trophy after securing all three points at the London Stadium.
Before the match against West Ham, Arsenal were given an 86 percent probability of becoming Premier League champions.
However, after Manchester City’s convincing 3 0 victory over Brentford on Saturday, Arsenal’s chances reportedly dropped to 78.1 percent.
The Gunners responded with a hard fought win over West Ham, courtesy of Leandro Trossard’s 83rd minute goal, restoring confidence in their title push.
Following the result, Opta’s latest projection now places Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League at 87.2 percent.
The victory moves Arsenal five points ahead of Manchester City with only two matches remaining in the season, placing the North London club firmly in control of the title race.
