The senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central, has received the release of Clement Ikolo, the traditional ruler of Ewu Kingdom, from the Nigerian Army.

Major General Clement Nwachukwu, the Army spokesman, stated that Ikolo was freed since there was no evidence connecting him to the deaths of 17 troops in Okuama.

According to Nwachukwu, Senator Dafinone is acting as the monarch’s guarantor.

Nevertheless, he pointed out that there is currently no proof that clears him.

Following the military’s declaration of his and several others sought in relation to the March 14th killing of seventeen army troops in Okuama, the traditional ruler of Ewu turned himself in to the police.

After the army had control of him for over a month, the police turned him over to the armed forces.

While on a peacekeeping assignment in Okuama last month, 17 members of the Army were killed.
