John Mikel Obi, a former captain of Nigeria, made a suggestion that Chelsea might try again for Victor Osimhen the following year.
Speaking on his podcast, Mikel Obi asserted that an agreement this summer was imminent for all parties.
Osimhen, however, has signed a season-long contract with Galatasaray after his transfer to Stamford Bridge fell through.
It is Mikel Obi’s belief that a transfer might yet occur in January or the following summer.
He declared: “You know, Victor’s a strong character, he’s a bit like Didier Drogba and Diego Costa and that’s something we’re missing at the club, strikers who have that edge, who have that bite who can intimidate defenders and Victor definitely has that.”
Mikel Obi went on, “There are definitely no issues,” regarding Chelsea renewing their interest in the upcoming window. If, as I mentioned, we have to pick this up again, it won’t matter if it’s in January or the summer of next year—we know where we are and where we’ve stopped. A few minor things need to be worked out and the deal will be completed.
