The City Boy Movement (CBM), Abia State Chapter, has successfully inaugurated its Local Government, Ward, and Unit Coordinators across the Abia South Senatorial Zone, marking a major step in strengthening grassroots structures and youth mobilization across the region.
The inauguration ceremony, held at St. Anne’s Primary School, Obehie, Ukwa West, brought together key stakeholders, political leaders, and movement executives from across the state. Coordinators and executives from Aba North, Aba South, Obingwa, Ugwunagbo, Ukwa East, and Ukwa West were formally sworn in, taking an oath of commitment to serve diligently and uphold the ideals of the movement.
In a remarkable show of support and leadership, Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jr donated **six buses**, allocating one to each Local Government Area in Abia South to boost mobility, coordination, and effective grassroots engagement. This strategic intervention is expected to significantly enhance the operational capacity of the movement within the zone.
Speaking at the event, the Abia South Zonal Coordinator, Okezie Clement Erondu, assured of total commitment from the zone, expressing confidence that the structure in place would deliver overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He also appreciated the State Director and leadership of the movement for the confidence reposed in the Abia South team.
The event was attended by prominent figures including the State Director, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe; State Patron, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji; State Coordinator, Chief Okechukwu Gberemako; and Chief Dr. Eruba Dimgba, Abia State Representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, alongside zonal leaders and top executives.
Delivering his keynote address, the State Director, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, described the inauguration as the beginning of a purposeful movement anchored on youth inclusion, grassroots strength, and strategic political engagement. He emphasized that the City Boy Movement is a people-driven initiative aimed at mobilizing young Nigerians across all 36 states in support of progressive governance and national development.
He charged the newly inaugurated executives to see their roles as a call to service, urging them to build strong, inclusive, and effective structures within their respective local governments and wards, while ensuring active engagement at the community level.
Also speaking, the State Patron reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that young people remain at the center of the movement’s activities. He assured that leadership decisions would continue to reflect youth interests and that efforts would be made to translate grassroots support into meaningful political outcomes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while advocating for equitable federal presence in Abia State.
The inauguration of the Abia South structure signals a strategic consolidation of the City Boy Movement’s presence in the state, positioning the zone as a key driver in the broader vision of youth empowerment, political organization, and national progress.
