Nigeria’s headline inflation rate increased to 15.38 percent in March 2026, up from 15.06 percent recorded in February, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
The latest figures show a continued upward trend in prices, reflecting ongoing economic pressures across the country.
On a month-on-month basis, inflation stood at 4.18 percent in March, indicating a notable rise in the general price level within a short period.
Food inflation also climbed significantly, reaching 14.31 percent in March compared to 12.12 percent in February. On a monthly basis, food inflation was recorded at 4.17 percent.
The data highlights persistent increases in the cost of living, particularly in food prices, which continue to impact households nationwide.
