Manchester United have reportedly decided against bringing goalkeeper Andre Onana back to Old Trafford this summer despite securing qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The Premier League club had sent the Cameroonian goalkeeper on loan to Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor following a series of underwhelming performances.
United, who originally signed Onana from Inter Milan, moved to replace him with goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
Although Onana’s loan spell with Trabzonspor is expected to end in the coming weeks, the former Ajax shot stopper has reportedly expressed his desire to return to Manchester United and compete for a place in the squad.
However, reports from ESPN indicate that the Red Devils have no intention of reintegrating the 30 year old into the team.
The report further stated that Manchester United have already begun exploring options to secure a permanent move for the goalkeeper elsewhere.
