William Troost-Ekong has expressed confidence that the Nigeria National Football Team will qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles were drawn in Group L of the qualification series alongside Madagascar National Football Team, co hosts Tanzania National Football Team, and Guinea-Bissau National Football Team.
Troost Ekong acknowledged that the group may appear favourable on paper, with the opposing teams often regarded as underdogs in African football, but maintained that qualification would still require serious effort.
“It is not an easy group, but I trust them to get over the line,” the former Super Eagles captain told CAFonline.
Nigeria will begin its qualification campaign with a home fixture against Madagascar in September.
The team, currently managed by Eric Chelle, finished third at the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations hosted in Morocco.
