Eric Chelle has admitted that the Nigeria national football team made several mistakes during their 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe national football team in the Unity Cup semi final on Tuesday night.

Two goals from Femi Azeez secured the win for Nigeria at The Valley in London, sending the Super Eagles into the final where they will face either India national football team or Jamaica national football team.

India and Jamaica are scheduled to meet on Wednesday night, with the winner advancing to the final against Nigeria this weekend.

Speaking after the match, Chelle said the encounter served as a learning process for his players and technical crew.

“This is only a friendly game. This is not the World Cup qualifier. They need to work hard,” Chelle said during his post match interview.

“They need to try to understand what I want, what the technical staff want and the high level is difficult.

“So you see, we made some mistakes with the ball. For sure, you see tomorrow we work out,” he said.
