Victor Ikpeba, a former international, has cautioned the Super Eagles to perform to the best of their abilities when they play South Africa and Benin in the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying match.

Against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, two underdog teams, the Super Eagles drew their first two games in the qualification series.

Group C leaders South Africa are in second place with three points, while Finidi George’s team is in third place with two points..

Ikpeba, a member of the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), believed that the Super Eagles were doomed to win their next two matches, particularly against South Africa.

“The game against South Africa is the game of our lives,” declared Ikpeba on Supersports Monday Night Football.

“Finidi has the players having only recently reached the final of the AFCON, which was one of the toughest ever.

“The boys know what is at stake.

“They have to be focused and make the necessary sacrifices to ensure they beat South Africa.

“It won’t be easy, but it can be done.”

On Friday, June 7, the Super Eagles will play South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Three days later, the three-time African champions will take against Benin at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
