The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified Engineer Kayode Ojo from participating in the forthcoming Ekiti State governorship primary election.
The decision was announced on Thursday by the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, during a press briefing in Abuja.
According to Meseko, Governor Abiodun Oyebanji and Omolayo Oluremi were the only aspirants cleared to contest in the October 27 primary.
The announcement came shortly after Ojo visited the APC secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, where he reportedly received no official reception.
Ojo, who had earlier mobilized thousands of supporters across all 16 local government areas of the state, had caused significant excitement in Ado-Ekiti ahead of the exercise.
Further details regarding the reason for his disqualification are expected to be made public soon.
