The public confrontation between Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and a naval officer on a disputed Abuja property has sparked a fresh online clash between activist Deji Adeyanju and APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe.

A viral video on Tuesday showed Wike berating a soldier who denied him access to the site, drawing mixed reactions nationwide. Supporters of the officer argued he was performing his duty, while others backed the minister’s stance on enforcing Abuja land regulations.

Reacting on Facebook, Igbokwe demanded the officer be dismissed, questioning the backing behind his actions.

Adeyanju responded with a sharp rebuke, accusing the former Lagos government aide of seeking political relevance.
He wrote, “Dear Joe Igbokwe, appointment is finished already. Stop the hustling except you want to replace this cameraman. Doing media aide in old age is actually crazy. Old data boys.”

Igbokwe replied in the comments, stressing that he was not seeking appointments and warning Adeyanju against disrespect.

“Deji you do not know me and I do not know you… I have been a well-made man for over 30 years. I started activism in the University of Nigeria Nsukka in the 80s… Young man I am not looking for anything anymore from anybody. I am not your mate,” he wrote.

He urged Adeyanju to “check my background, ask questions, seek information, go and read my 5 books and you will know me.”

The online altercation adds to the controversy surrounding the land dispute incident, which has continued to draw reactions across political and military circles.
