Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him of prioritising personal political ambition over national progress.
Eze described it as unfortunate that the current administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken Nigeria down what he called an “inglorious path,” despite the sacrifices made to bring the party to power.
He alleged that the President is attempting to weaken opposition parties in a bid to establish a one-party system and secure an unchallenged return in the 2027 elections.
Drawing a comparison, Eze claimed Tinubu is more focused on remaining in power like Paul Biya, who has ruled Cameroon for decades.
The ADC chieftain also commended members of his party for speaking out against what he described as undue interference in opposition affairs and urged continued protests to demand free and credible elections.
He called on Nigerians to unite and resist any attempt to undermine democracy, insisting that sustained civic action could influence political change, just as past protests contributed to shifting power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
