The African Action Congress has written to President Bola Tinubu, requesting permission to inaugurate its Presidential Campaign Council for its presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on November 11, 2026.

In a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by the party’s National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, the AAC also requested food, drinks and logistical support for 5,000 participants expected from Nigeria and abroad.

The party said its demands were based on the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness and equal treatment of political parties. It cited similar arrangements it claimed had been extended to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The AAC maintained that public institutions should serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination, regardless of their political affiliations.

It challenged the Tinubu administration to demonstrate its commitment to fairness and equal access by considering the requests.

The party’s proposal has placed the question of equal treatment for political parties and access to government facilities at the centre of its preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
