The Fresh Agenda for Rivers (FAR) an affiliate structure of Fresh Agenda for Nigeria (FAN) said it has declared the Resident Electoral Commissioner In charge of Rivers State Mr Obo Effanga and cohorts as Personae Non granta.
FAR an organization which represents the voice of change in Rivers State Just like the parent Structure FAN, said tye Organisation is determined to support dedicated, committed and good spirited Nigerians and organizations to actualize the dream of the founding fathers of having a nation we can call our own and a nation we shall all be proud of.
FAR desires to achieve the goal by working in a team of like minds through a bloodless “Tactico-Structural” revolutionary method of building up Men to take up strategic positions in the Administrative and political spheres of our Society.
A Statement by Comrade Peter Az Ohochukwu on behalf of Fresh Agenda for Rivers said the Group is a principal Stakeholder and major player in the politics of Rivers State.
“we have keenly watched the activities of political parties, security Agencies, critical stakeholders and the supposed Unbiased Umpire INEC before, During and After the March 9th Gubernatorial and state Assembly elections and we came up with the following resolutions for the interest of our dear state and nation at large”
“We want to unequivocally and unreservedly commend the Nigerian Army for their presence around the streets and towns in Rivers State which saved us from going through the experiences of 2015, in which Rivers State was described as a theatre of war by the Supreme Court of Nigeria. The Electorates regret the absence of the army around the polling units and collation centres which paved ways for hoodlums and some opportunistic election fraudsters to hijack electoral materials’
” We condemn in strong terms the unconstitutional, undemocratic and barbaric attitude of the Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike who invaded the Obio/Akpor Local Govt Collation Centre with over 200 armed Thugs and made away with result sheets and other Electoral Materials”
“We have critically analyzed the activities of the electoral officers in the 23 local Govt Area of the state and have confirmed that the chief electoral officer in the state; the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Mr. Obo Effanga is grossly incompetent and have shown a climaxed level of inexperience as he was unable to conduct three (3) elections in Rivers State successfully due to His undeniable likelihood of bias. Hitherto, we call on the National Chairman of INEC to play down his obvious partisan interest in Rivers State and withdraw Effanga for proper training and also redeploy his hatchet man Mr. Etim Umoh (Administrative Secretary) and all the local Government Electoral officers as all of them have compromised and have shown vested interests in a particular political party”
“It is unbelievable that a commission that went on air to suspend an election stating that there was violence in substantial number of polling Units and collation centres and that their staff were taken hostage and materials including result sheets were either seized or destroyed by unauthorized persons will suddenly turn around to say that they have results collated from units; this is not just unpatriotic but gross deception and conspiracy of the highest order”
“We hereby call on the president of the Federal republic of Nigeria, National Security Adviser, DG DSS, IGP and other relevant Security agencies to call INEC to order to stop the unlawful activities of INEC which is not just unconstitutional but mischievous and tantamount to throwing Rivers State and the Niger Delta into another bout of crisis, by under minding national Security”
“The Federal Government should as a matter of urgency and necessity direct the relevant security Agencies to immediately investigate the activities of some stakeholders who raised armed thugs (Neighborhood) that camouflaged as security agents and aided in the process of hijacking of electoral materials. Such acts must not be taken lightly as such acts are not only mischievous but also treasonous”
